Biography
Caroline Scherzer graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Human Development and minors in Psychology and Business Leadership. She is currently a Senior Clinical Research Assistant on multiple research projects including Mobile Peer-Support, iCOPE, and iCOPE2. She plans to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology dedicated to identifying, improving, and disseminating treatments for substance use disorders in adults. Specifically, she is interested in the treatment of opioid use disorder, developing interventions in community-based settings, and applying knowledge of etiological factors—such as comorbidity, gender, race, and criminal justice involvement—to individualize treatment strategies.
