Job Description:
We are actively recruiting a Clinical Research Program Coordinator to manage daily operations for studies focused on treatment for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). The portfolio of research studies that the Clinical Research Program Coordinator would be responsible for include projects on digital health to support recovery among individuals engaged in substance use treatment, research focused on the development and evaluation of integrated treatments for HIV and OUD, and research focused on interviewing key stakeholders (patients, clinicians, and administrative leaders) to develop a better understanding of the impact of COVID-19 on substance use treatment. The Coordinator will work with the Principal Investigator, Dr. Kirsten Langdon with opportunities for exposure to co-investigators in psychology, primary care medicine, and public health.
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, Dr. Kirsten Langdon, the Clinical Research Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the daily operations. Additional future opportunities may arise related to other research studies in the Department of Psychiatry and/or the Brown-Lifespan Center for Digital Health. The Coordinator will assist in: preparing, submitting, and maintaining multi-institutional review board documents; preparing, submitting, and maintaining federal and foundation regulatory reports and documents; budgeting and managing financial accounts; monitoring monthly expense reports for accuracy and conformance to budget; scheduling and facilitating research meetings; training and supervising Research Assistants in proper research protocols; coordinating Research Assistant work schedule; and assisting with literature reviews and preparation of abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations. Additional opportunities may involve assisting with grant submissions. Day-to-day study tasks will include, but are not limited to: obtaining informed consent from participants; clinical recruitment in outpatient treatment settings, qualitative interviewing, and follow-up procedure.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health or relevant discipline
- Prior research experience and project management experience as a program/project coordinator (2+ years)
- Prior supervisory experience (1+ years)
- Highly organized, self-motivated, outstanding attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
- Personable and able to positively interact with study participants and their families
- Excellent verbal communication, written communication, and analytical skills
- Excellent computer skills (e.g., Microsoft suite)
- At least basic skills with statistical software (examples of skills might include STATA/SAS/SPSS/R/PYTHON/Julia)
Preferences:
- Master’s degree in public health or relevant discipline
- Background in health sciences, psychology, social work, and/or public health
- Prior experience working with populations diagnosed with substance use disorders
- Prior experience with qualitative research (interviewing and coding)
- Prior experience with clinical research and institutional review boards (IRBs)
- Comfort with working in clinical settings (outpatient treatment programs)
- Comfort discussing sensitive topics, including substance use and mental health
- Prior experience in substance use disorders intervention research, digital health research, community-based research/engagement, or qualitative research
- Familiarity with data collection software (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics), electronic medical records (e.g. Epic), qualitative software (e.g., NVivo) citation software (e.g., EndNote), and statistical software (e.g., SPSS)
